Jelly is always the best excuse for us all to meet. You may see our pictures with laptops and netbooks but they are not really needed. Some projects may require pen and paper and other projects are born with an introduction.  At Jelly good mood is the basis. That is all we need to meet up, work, talk, exchange and share. Jelly is the event that helps one meet old friends and make new ones. No matter what kind of friend you are, we would like to welcome you to our meeting this Sunday. It is after all our last gathering for the year 2009!

* If this is your first time, ask for Konstantina, Konstantinos or Lefteris. They will surely make you feel right at home!

Some thoughts

Some of you might be confused about my last “communicative try” to ask you about what you would like to talk about at a Jelly talk around design.

Lets talk about design, lets talk about creativity: Let us know what do you think, what specific subject you are interested in?
We would like to organize a Jelly talk. Content creator?
Always you :-)

The truth is that my instant message like post was not quite the best choice to get feedback. Basic things were missing in this message, and of course, it was like mass messaging, which I dislike if it is done to me. And yes, I did  all the mistakes I am talking about. Still do some of them because I am hurrying too much. Pushing myself to do everything perfect and ignoring the simple fact that things have to flow smoothly with small steps. There is no need to push them. They will develop and grow themselves. Everything needs its time. It does not matter if it is organizing a meet-up or a communication campaign.

My  goal of this out-of-the-blue message was and still is to find out, what you would be interested in. What would be a value for you and make you attend a discussion about design. One topic could be the thin line between art and design. What is the difference between the two, if there is any? Design, some say, is more related to commercial use. Could it be called commercial art?  Are there differences between creating the visual for print and web?

Questions, nearly all of us have an opinion on, but what think those who create, draw, design visual identities, offline and online? What do our eyes feel comfortable with?

In fact we already made some discussions during Jellies about this. There were some private discussions as well. The open discussion was planned for December, but due advanced work responsibilities, we decided to postpone it for January. During the last months we see new projects growing. Two of those, I really like are Phresh and TrendyFreddy.

Another one is CoLab, an attempt to set up the first community workspace in Athens, which we would be happy to become reality soon.

Regarding, our Jelly meetings, we are planning one this weekend, eventually on Sunday. It will be announced as soon as possible.
